Built on Engineering.
Run as a Family.
We fix packaging machines, keep them running and supply the consumables they need. Engineer-led, OEM independent, UK-wide.
Started by an engineer.
Grown through trust.
Founded in 2006. Still the same business, same standards, same people picking up the phone.
Kevin started his career at Signode, learning strapping machines from the inside. When he moved to Hertfordshire, the phone kept ringing. Former customers, new contacts, all with the same question: "Can you come and look at this?"
Eventually, the answer became a business. HPS started as a sole trader in 2006, built on word-of-mouth from customers who knew they were getting an engineer, not a call centre. It became a Ltd company in 2023.
Ryan joined as an apprentice in 2017 and hasn't looked back. Callum came on board in 2024. The business is still small by design - when you call, you'll speak to someone who actually knows your account, not a ticketing system.
We haven't grown into a distributor model. We haven't tied ourselves to any OEM. The plan is to keep it that way.
The people who
fix your machines.
Kevin
Kevin learnt his craft over many years, starting with his first apprenticeship at Signode. His expertise on all things strapping and wrapping related means he can diagnose root causes and implement long-term fixes effectively.
HPS grew out of his reputation. Customers kept calling and eventually the answer was to make it official. His decades of experience are very hard to replicate and his vision to train the next generation of engineers is realised in Ryan and Callum's ongoing growth.
Kevin covers Hertfordshire and the Home Counties, Greater London, East Midlands, East Anglia and Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Ryan
Ryan joined as an apprentice under Kevin in 2017 and learnt the trade properly - not shortcuts, not theory first. Strapping machines are his territory and he's built serious knowledge across the major brands.
Relentless in diagnosing and fixing machine problems, as well as sharing his knowledge with others, he is an engineer through and through and his standard of work speaks for itself.
Ryan covers Telford and Shropshire, North West England and North Wales.
Callum
Callum joined in 2024 and has built real confidence quickly - particularly on pallet wrappers and tabletop strappers. He's gaining ground on the bigger, more complex kit every week.
HPS has always believed in developing engineers the right way: on real machines, with experienced people alongside them.
Callum covers Birmingham and the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Herefordshire and South Wales.
Three things that don't change.
Engineering first, always
Every recommendation - repair route, service plan, consumables spec - starts with what's technically right, not what's convenient or profitable for us. We built the business on that.
Independent and honest
No OEM ties, no manufacturer loyalty. We support all major brands and our advice reflects that. You get a straight answer, even if it's not what you were hoping to hear.
Clear reporting, every time
Every visit ends with a written report - what we found, what we did, what caused it and what to watch for. Customers should understand what's happening to their machines, not just receive a bill.
